Distracted Driving Enforcement Results

The Round Lake Police Department issued 71 hands-free law violations during the April Distracted Driving enforcement period. Distracted Driving Awareness Month allowed the Round Lake Police Department to bring heightened awareness to stop motorists from engaging in this dangerous behavior.
During the enforcement campaign, the Round Lake
Police Department also arrested/ cited:
- 13 speeding violations
- 14 uninsured vehicle violations
- 9 seat
belt violations
- 1 child passenger safety violations
- 11 license violation arrests
- 3 traffic
control device violation
- 26 other traffic citations
Using your phone in anything other than hands-free
mode in Illinois is not only dangerous, it is illegal. Break the cycle. Drop It
and Drive.
The Round Lake Police Department joined forces with state
and local law enforcement and highway safety partners for this enforcement
effort. This campaign is funded with
federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of
Transportation.
