Courtesy Election Petition Packets for April 4, 2023, Consolidated Election are available at Village Hall.


The following Public Offices within the Village of Round Lake are up for Election on April 4, 2023:

  • September 20, 2021- First day to pick up and circulate nomination papers for the April 4, 2023 Consolidated Election.
  • December 12, 2022- First day to file Candidate Petitions
  • December 19, 2022- Last day to file Candidate Petitions

Monday through Friday- 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Monday, December 19, 2022 ONLY- 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Anyone in line to file their petitions at 8:00 am on Monday, December 12, 2022 will be placed in a lottery to determine ballot placement.  In order to qualify for the Simultaneous Filing Lottery on the last day of filing, you must file your petition between the hours of 4:00-5:00 pm on Monday, December 19, 2022.

No petitions will be accepted after 5:00 pm on Monday, December 19, 2022.

The Village Clerk and staff cannot provide a review of nominating papers or legal opinions regarding petition papers. Prospective candidates are strongly encouraged to consult competent legal counsel regarding qualifications to seek office, preparation of petition papers, circulator requirements, signature requirements, etc. After petition papers have been filed, pages cannot be amended or added. A receipt for filing the required Statement of Economic Interests may be added until 5:00 pm on the last day to file.
