Annual Water Quality Report
Round Lake Village Residents
Each year, the Village issues an annual water quality report to provide information about the quality of our drinking water, the source of our water, how it is treated, and the regulated compounds it contains. These reports are issued in compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act. The Village of Round Lake’s 2021 Annual Water Quality Report is for the period of January 1 through December 31, 2020.
Printed copies of the 2021 Annual Water Quality Report can be mailed by calling 847-546-0962.
Unincorporated Round Lake Residents
The Village of Round Lake does not test water quality for unincorporated Round Lake. However, residents can visit Lake County Public Works Annual Quality Report if you are on a water system (if you receive a water bill) or Lake County Health Department (if you are on a water well).
Chlorine and Drinking Water
The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) recently updated their requirements on the minimum level of residual chlorine in public drinking water. The level was increased from 0.2 mg/L to 0.5 mg/L.
The Village purchases water already chlorinated from the Central Lake County Joint Action Water Agency (CLCJAWA).
CLCJAWA has increased the amount of chlorine they put into the drinking water in order to comply with the new IEPA requirements. Chlorine is used to disinfect drinking water and keep it safe from waterborne diseases. Learn more about why chlorine is in the water, how CLCJAWA uses chlorine, information about the IEPA requirements or ways to reduce chlorine in your water.
